Ingredients

Wheat Flour (Thiamine, Folic Acid), Vegetable Oils, Sugar, Raising Agents (450, 500), Skim Milk Powder, Buttermilk Powder [(1%) Milk], Salt.

 

Allergens

Contains Wheat, Gluten, and Milk.

Storage Instruction: Store in a cool, dry place.

 

Preparation Instructions

  1. Measure ingredients into mixing bowl.
  2.  Mix on low to medium setting to form a soft dough. Be careful not to over mix.
  3. Note: if too wet add a little more Scone Mix – or if too dry add a little more water to get a nice soft dough.
  4. Empty dough onto a floured surface and knead lightly.
  5. Roll out to required thickness (recommend about 18mm
  6. Cut scones with a cutter. (1Kg of scone mix will make approx 24 scones when using a 50mm cutter).
  7. Place scones on a lightly greased and floured baking tray & brush tops with milk or egg wash (if desired)
  8. Rest prepared scones for 10-15 minutes before placing in a hot oven (230-240°C) for 15-20 minutes

Using a planetary mixer with a dough hook

1.Measure Buttermilk Scone Mix and water into mixing bowl.

2. Mix on low to medium setting to form a soft dough. Be careful not to over mix.

Note: if too wet add a little more Scone Mix – or if too dry add a little more water to get a nice soft dough.

* OPTIONAL: Blend the sultanas or cheese and dried herbs into the batter just before mixing is finished

3. Empty dough onto a floured surface and knead lightly.

4. Roll out to required thickness (recommend about 18 mm)

5. Cut scones with a cutter (1 kg of Scone Mix will make approximately 24 scones when using a 50 mm cutter).

6. Place scones on a lightly greased and floured baking tray & brush tops with milk, egg wash or a dusting of flour (if desired)

7. Rest prepared scones for 10 - 15 minutes before placing in a hot oven (230 - 240°C) for 15 - 20 minutes.
